Folk are using workarounds like http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/saveembeddedpictures.htm
http://www.technologyquestions.com/technology/internet-explorer/218711-copy-paste-image-outlook-word-2.html complained about no solution.
Well I can report it works fine here on Windows 7 64 Bit with Outlook 2003, Word 2003 and IE9.
Bob
I have a problem when trying to copy an image that is embedded in an email and post it into Word. Outlook is connecting to an exchange server, and whenever you copy an email that has embedded images, then paste it into word, you get an empty box of the proper dimensions where the picture should be. If I paste to OpenOffice writer, the box for the image is there with the HTML code inside "cid:image001.jpg@" If I paste into WordPad, if I have only copied the image, I see the image, If I copied the image and text I get the empty white box.
This only happens with Office 2003, and only after upgrading above IE6, on IE6 all other things the same I can copy/paste emails with no issues, on IE7 or IE8 the pictures dont appear.
If using Word as the editor for emails, if I try to copy/paste into a new email, I get the same empty box as with pasting to Word. If I turn off using Word as the editor, I can paste with no Issues.
Please help, This is driving me insane
