Feb 10, 2004 10:24AM PST

Have windows XPSE and following doc. will not paste to Outlook Express email. It does copy and will paste to other documents without any trouble, but when I try to paste document to email (paste is not highlighted. THis did not occure until two months ago. I have done everything that Bob has encouraged me to do-----------do not have parasites, worms, virus,----when't thru 6 scanning programs and computer was clean---------have had two tech companies look at it and work with it----------but to no avail. Below is the document: Will not paste to this space ? --------------and do not know how to attach doc. to this message. NEED HELP DESPERATELY-----------

The noted pest was not a hit/miss failure of copy/paste, but affected all copy/paste operations, so I agree your issue is somehow different.

Can you open a command window (start, run, CMD) and post the results of the following two commands so we can look under the hood so to speak?

TASKLIST

TASKLIST /SVC

Be sure to note pop-up stoppers and such since many stop such as well.

In my first post I wrote:

Help me out in the future and tell me how else to share this information.

------- WHAT'S YOUR PATH? -------

I tend not to hold hands. In my last post I noted that this is a stock tool in XP with references. I also dropped a HINT that the path may be suspect.

If you don't know what a PATH is, that's ok but not when you are the troubleshooter of your machine. Be sure to not be silent or inquisitive on such terms.

You can open the command window, type PATH press enter and share the results here. You can also search for the TASKLIST.EXE. The machine here has it in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32

There is a REAL BUG in the path on some machines, but I'll need to see your PATH to call it.
