I tried to use the copy and paste on the above post and ended up with a blank white page that gave no indication of any hypertext mark up language would display after publishing. Is this a temporary glitch, or a permanent one?

I think

it's because most other pages are constructed with character chart for Western 1851 coding and when copy/pasted into this which may use some other coding like UTF, things mess up. Just guessing. Part of problem may be browsers. Have you noticed that you can do a copy of something on a webpage and then paste into an email message and formatting also goes along with it? That means the copy command is picking up the clear text and the html code. When pasting that from a browser to these reply boxes, the html coding then gets inserted and then converts from code to entity on the display.

There ma be a workaround
by MarkFlax Forum moderator / April 29, 2011 4:09 AM PDT

Before you start typing, (or pasting), into the text window, turn off WYSIWYG. which is the magnifying glass icon to the right of the smiley. Just click once.

It's a workaround but it should work. It also allows word-wrap text lines allowing lines of text to reach the right hand edge instead of breaking at odd times.

When I tried that it did turn off the formatting icons, but BB codes still won't work.

I think the formatting is just broken.
