cop and plp files

When I upgraded Adobe Master collection to CS5 from CS4, I found out that all JPEGs became JPEG.cop and JPEG.plp files under the subfile of Phase one. I can not open those files. What happened? How can I open those files. My OS is Windows 7. It is difficult for me to believe the upgrade did this??
Can anybody help!!
