Coolermaster mastermouse s

Hey all,

I should start off by saying that one of my USB ports on my desktop is faulty due to being physically bent (I still had my headphones on, they were plugged into the usb and I yanked the cord by accident).It's possible this port and any port on the "same board" (all located on the front of my pc as opposed to being on the motherboard (back pc) give an error. I have used some of these ports without problems in the past though. I might have plugged my new coolermaster into a failing port resulting in an error...The thing is the mouse doesn't respond no matter where it is plugged in (front or back pc). It works without a problem on my laptop so it might be in the registry? (idk i'm a pc novice..)

Second possible source of the problem might be that I unplugged the mouse before it was fully installed...

I tried restarting my desktop in hopes it would recognise the mouse after all but that didn't work.

Any suggestions that might help solve this problem? Thx!

Putting in an USB card to replace the now bad ports?

As to possible software angles, boot Safe Mode and remove all mice you find in Device Manager, reboot and try again.

Hey,

I haven't tried buying an USB Card (assuming you mean something like this?). What the store did as a fix was to connect and external USB bar (5 or so external USB ports, something like this) to one of the then working ports, but after a while these ports also became faulty...(maybe by plugging it into a faulty port). I suppose they opted for an external solutions since the ports they wanted to replace were in the top/front of my case...I still have a couple of usb ports I can use in the back so that should be ok provided none of them are broken...I'll start with the software fixes and see where that gets me. I can see how that could get around most software glitch on install issues. That's something I carry in my PC medic bag for a lot of reasons. You just added a new idea for its use.

The card is my usual fix if the ports have been damaged.
