Converting Win 98 & XP boxes to Linux
1. How do I wipe the hard drives of my Win 98 & XP boxes completely clean, so I can use them exclusively with Linux (e.g. Ubuntu)?
2. How do I create or obtain live CD or live flash drive to boot and run my wiped-clean computers, so that each boot is fresh and uncontaminated.
3. How do I re-acquire the drivers for whatever requires drivers on my wiped-clean computers? Is it advisable to incorporate these drivers in the live CD / flash drive or to install them on the hard drive?
4. Is it advisable to incorporate the browser in the live CD / flash drive or to install it on the hard drive?
5. How do I customize the live CD / flash drive to incorporate settings, preferences, and, if advisable, browser?
6. How do I incorporate updates into the live CD / flash drive?

2. http://www.ubuntu.com/ has the downloads for Live CD and USB.
3. Today I rarely need a driver. Cross that bridge when you get there.
4. All the downloads I find at http://www.ubuntu.com/ have a few browsers.
