What are they now? You don't tell. A playlist is just some text, no music at all.

When you bought that music that your playlist points to, did you buy the license to publish it on your website? For most music that isn't free at all.

if you friend is the composer or singer of the tracks

then you will probably be OK on the copyright thing.

However, if he is merely the owner of the physical CD, then the right to put the music on your website is not his to give.

Legally you need the permission, usually written, from the copyright owner.

Answer
iTunes will convert your Playlist

to MP3

Edit > Preferences > General Tab > Import settings

Choose MP3 from the drop down list.

close all windows.

In iTunes, select the track(s) you want to convert, right click and choose Create MP3 Version.

iTunes will make an MP3 version of the track while keeping your existing version.

How's that?
