Question

Converting QuickTime movie to MPEG

Feb 17, 2012 10:44AM PST

I have taken several animated gif images and made a QuickTime movie of them using the QuickTime Player 7. Then I added sound to it also using the QuickTime Player 7. The movie plays wonderfully well with the added sound in Quicktime Player 7 and in RealPlayer as long as it is a QuickTime movie. But when I convert it to an MPEG movie, it does not retain the sound. What am I doing wrong?

More help needed in converting .mov to .mp4
Feb 19, 2012 5:32AM PST

Thank you Bob for the leads. I should have included that I am using a Mac and OS 10.6.8 when I am playing around with the video files. I have several programs including QuickTime Pro that allows me to convert from one format to the other. That is great. BUT!!! The problem is that while QT Pro allows me to add sound to a videos clip (which I did) as long as I save it as a .mov file. No matter how or what I am doing the sound does not stay with the converted file.

I'm beginning to think you need to look at Final Cut Pro.
