Converting LPs to mp3s

Jun 12, 2008 11:27PM PDT

I would like to convert Vinyl to mp3s. I have a turntable, a pre-amp (GLI GLX 2800), the proper cables to connect the turntable to the pre amp, and a cable that connects the pre-amp to my laptop.... however, my DELL laptop does not have a line-in jack.

Is there a method to connect the pre amp to the laptop without a line in jack?

What other jacks does it have?

If a mic, even radio shack has something to drop the level if need be.

BUT almost all those inputs are noisy so I suggest the Creative Labs USB or PC Card if you can find them for such work.

However if you use a preamp, turn it to it's lowest setting at first and then (for lack of a better word) FIDDLE.
