converting LP etc to digital format

My main problem is that my hi-fi is on one side of the house and my compy is on the other, and there's no possibility of shifting either of them. Does anyone know if there exist really long cables with RCA plugs on one end & headphone jack on the other? Or a series of shorted cables that achieve the same thing?

If you are going to do a lot of that LP conversion then you best bet would be to get another turntable and pre-amp and set that close to the compy.
