Converting hd movies to sd discs

I recently purchased a canon legria HFR205 camcorder. i want to edit video clips and convert them to standard def. i cant see to find the correct software. seemingly pixela videobrowser ver 1 is the correct software but i cant find it.??anyone know of other easy to use software for editing. thanks

Yes m computer can write data, and yes i am looking for software to convert from hd to sd and also editting sofware, i have windows 7 64 bit operating sytsem with 3gb of ram plus 200 gb harddrive. and i do exect to play in a standard dvd player

I've used DVD FLICK to convert such to Standard Definition DVD but haven't in a few years as family now can play the file without conversion on their PCs. They play them with VLC PLAYER.

As to editing, there are too many good software titles today. Sony Vegas is very nice.
