Converting Cassette Tapes to Digital Music Files

Nov 2, 2005 4:04AM PST

Hello,

I'm in the process of archiving some lectures my husband has given and I'd like to convert them from cassette tape to digital music files. I'll probably take them to WAV format so that I can create CD's and then have the option of converting from that lossless format to either MP3 or WMA and keep the sound quality decent.

I just need some input on the best way to convert the files, though. I have a Nomad Jukebox 3 which has high quality line in recording. I could record directly to WAV using that option and then copy the files over to my PC. Other option would be recording through my PC. I have an E-Machines T3092 and according the their website the sound card is: nForce? 6-channel Audio. So, which method would be best and if it's the PC route, what programs would you recommend. I have WMP 10 and Nero 6. If others are needed, please give recommendations.

Thanks in advance for your assistance. I look forward to your replies!
Rachel
