When I convert movie AVI & MP4 files to MPEG-1,so I
can watch the movie on my Sony DVP-SR510H DVD
player, the images are pinched and elongated a bit on the
playback in my TV set. This happens quite a bit.Can this be remedied?

There are tomes on the web why there is stretch or black bars on video now. Since this is how it is, my answer is no.

Let me add a little to those.

DVDFlick uses the Windows Codec system (that's a long discussion on its own!) to transcode. Because of the crapware issues I would only get a Codec package with Ninite.

Here's why you will see me posting more about Ninite in 2015.

Here's why I use Ninite today:

Converting AVI &MP4 files to MPEG-1

Thank you R.Proffitt & Grif Thomas. I changed the TV Aspect Ratio to 4:3 in my
DVD recorder Setup menu.I get the bars, but it's preferable to the stretched version
on my TV. Interesting comment about Ninite, something I wasn't aware existed.
