Converting .avi????

I am trying to convert a .AVI video so that i can burn it to a disc to watch on a dvd player. What is the easiest or best way to go about this. I've tried everything from nero to a converter but nothing seems to work. Thanks in advance for any information.

Can't answer "best". Just what I use.

I use DVD FLICK because of the price and it works for me.

is it pretty easy to use?

Don't know.

Since I don't use much else for that I can't answer that. However if you look into this title you find it's free and has some fair online documentation.

Yes.

The time varies with the machine's power. A faster machine is faster and vice versa.

AVI

Try downloading the AVI CODEC PACK, see if that does the trick.

Hard to say

It's hard to say, because AVI is a container format, within which you can have a near infinite number of different video and audio codec combinations. You'll need a decoder for each. So, keep that in mind if programs have a problem.
