General discussion

Converting = Adobe Acrobat --> Microsoft Office 2003

Nov 19, 2004 12:22AM PST

Hello! Help needed

Can somebody tell me why i cant convert my .DOC files into .PDF, but it is possible when converting Excel files.
I'm using Acrobat 6.0 Pro and Office 2003.

I also find out that it is much easier to convert if it is from Office XP to Acrobat 6.0, is it true?

Thanks for your replies!!!

Kate

Very odd. But I don't use Office much. Open Office has a save as PDF feature I do use and it reads most .DOC files with ease. I also got to keep my money...

Kate, Does This Help?

A link or two from Adobe:

Troubleshoot problems with Acrobat PDFMaker (6.0)

Although it refers to Acrobat 5.x, it may apply to 6.x also:
PDFMaker is unavailable in a Microsoft Office application (Acrobat 5.x on Windows XP, 2000)

In addition, IF you're only running Acrobat 6.0, then it appears like you may need to upgrade to 6.0.1 to support Office 2003. Other possible solutions are also listed. Here's a link to a FAQ from the Acrobat forums which mention a similar problem but with the toolbar links:

Acrobat toolbar icons missing from MS Office Applications

Hope this helps.

If you just want a pdf file of your doc file
There is a simple way and that is to PRINT
and select Adobe
this converts a copy of you doc files into a pdf file which you can save in a different folder
Any good ?
