Converting ACC to MP3

Jun 6, 2006 2:20PM PDT

I have a friend who recorded (using his iBook external mic) a vocal and guitar piece with the intent to send it to a friend... We sent the recording via email and Fuzzy (the recipient) couldn't play it since he had not put iTunes on his hard drive and we had sent a mpeg4 recording.

We started looking at the iTunes options and could not figure out how to convert the file to mpeg3... yeah... we had some beers, but so what!

A multi dollar deal (or less) hangs on this problem! Can any one can help us accomplish our goals?

Inside iTunes, select the track you want to convert.
Open Preferences and on the Advanced / Import tab, select "MP3". It's probably set to AAC right now.
Close preferences.
On the top menubar, select Advanced and slide down to "Convert Selection to MP3" Then you are done.

You can put the preference back to AAC aftwards
