Too many selections out there for this job.

Can any one advise me how I can convert rich text in a Word doc to an image file such as gif, jpg, jpeg, etc.?
I am using Windows ME, IE6, Word 2000. I also have Irfanview and several image file converters but they don't seem to regconize doc or rtf formats.
Help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

- In Word copy the selection to the clipboard (or make a screenprint to the clipboard).
- Open paint and paste it.
- If necessary, select the part you're interested in, and copy it (again) - especially if it's a screenprint. Then File>New.
- Save as bitmap.
- Open it in your favorite photo-editing program. Irfanview works also.
- Manipulate it (make it smaller/bigger, change colors, etc), as you like.
- Save it in any format the program supports (Irfanview supports gif)
The trick: use paint to convert text to pixels. It's one of the things this program can. But some of your image processing programs might be able to do it also if it comes from the clipboard (but, as you found out, not if it's in .doc or .rtf format).
Hope this helps.
