Question

Convert from wired to wifi

Apr 16, 2018 3:31PM PDT

We have an older hp Pavilion Elite e9220y desk top that was wired to Century Link. We moved and would like to set it up with wifi. But we are computer idiots. Can this be done, and how, what do we need? This is Windows 7, Lan 802.11. Please be direct and clear. Thank you for any help!

As mentioned to you already the best option is the addition of an ext. USB wifi device. It will be fairly inexpensive and comes with s/w and mounts in an free open USB port. Google away for a vendor, even Wal-mart has them, so you'll find one easily.

You will need a router. Then inisde Windows go to Network and Sharing center. From that window you want to click on Set up New Network.

Am I right?
