Personally, on desktops, I prefer the type that have an ability to connect to the computer through a USB cable that extends from the computer to a flat service near the computer. Something like this or with antennas:

We have an older hp Pavilion Elite e9220y desk top that was wired to Century Link. We moved and would like to set it up with wifi. But we are computer idiots. Can this be done, and how, what do we need? This is Windows 7, Lan 802.11. Please be direct and clear. Thank you for any help!
