convert DVD video to shareable format -- wmv?

Nov 13, 2005 1:58AM PST

What's the best format to use to share videos online? Something that's high quality yet not a large file. I've converted videos to avi but the file size is too large. Would wmv be best? What's the best way to convert to that? Thanks!

No conversion needed here.

My original content is in various AVI files ready to send out. The office uses Openssh (google.com) to allow customer pickup. Email servers limit to 1 or 2 megabytes per email so that's not usable.

DVD content however is not shareable for most since it's copyrighted works.

Hope this clears that up.

just share it as an mpeg wmv is a crappy format the only good thing about it is that if you want to stop people watching the thing theyve downloaded after a bit or if you want people to have a licence to watch your stuff. if not just an mpg will do.
btw does anyone know how to convert wmv to mpg or strip the audio/video info from a wmv file please tell...
