Question

conversion

Apr 7, 2016 5:26AM PDT

I am learning how to crochet, and have downloaded a couple of how-to crochet videos from You-Tube onto my computer. I would like to be able to burn these videos to a DVD disk and watch them on my TV by playing them on my DVD player (so that I can work along with the video), but need some kind of conversion program so that they will then work on my DVD player/TV. Is it possible to do this, and if so I need recommendations on what program to use and where to find/get it. Need one that is easy to use ( I am not computer savvy! Happy )

It's much easier to buy a chromecast and send them wireless to your TV while playing them on your TV.

Where I live we only have satellite internet, and it has a limited amount of data usage per month. It doesn't take much to use up that data, so watching something directly from the internet won't work for me. Sad I really need to be able to put the videos on a DVD disk and play it on my TV/DVD player. Wish I had some kind of DSL/inexpensive internet options out here, but I don't think we will ever get it. Sad

Since you have a downloaded file, you can play that on a PC/laptop without any data usage and use your TV as a monitor (either with a HDMI-cable or a Chromecast wireless).

This is pretty complicated.

Even today. You could try making a DVD with DVD Flick but the cheap exit may be a newer bluray player that takes those videos on some USB stick.

Sadly because of the proliferation of video encoding methods you get to learn a lot about video encoding with any direction you go.

...your best choice might be http://camstudio.org/ and it's used by recording what's seen on your computer screen and then saving to the format you need. You would start the cam studio software. You then start the video. You then save the recording to the format you want. You then burn the saved file to CD or DVD.
