Controlling loud background music on TV shows

by dpterrell / May 26, 2010 10:57 PM PDT

I have a HL-R4667W/HL set.
Recently, the sound on TV shows is dominated by the background music from the TV show.
Is there a way to separately control the volume of the music from the dialog of the show?

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue.

If you're using the speakers that are built-in to the television, then no, the speakers are playing the incoming signal from the broadcaster as it is sent.

If you're using external speakers or a receiver or surround-sound system, then try to increase the volume of the center channel.

Turn off surround sound and everything should be dramatically better.
