Contrast Ratio 100,000:1 with Samsung LN52A750R1F?

by jlinge69 / April 21, 2009 4:14 AM PDT

Electrozone says the LN52A750 has a contrast ratio of 50,000:1 and the LN52A750R1F has a contrast ratio of 100,000:1. Is this true? I can not find anywhere that shows a Samsung LN52A750R1F having a 100,000:1 contrast ratio, including the Samsung website. Does anyone have information on this subject?

Contrast Ratio 100,000:1 with Samsung LN52A750R1F?
by Samsung_HD_Tech Samsung staff / April 21, 2009 11:35 AM PDT

jlinge69,

The dynamic contrast ratio for the LN52A750 is 50,000:1. The R1F at the end of the other model is the full model number, so both units are essentially the same model number.

Hope that helps!

LN52A750R1F with Faroujda DCDI 1000 scaler
by jlinge69 / April 21, 2009 11:39 PM PDT

Electrozone says the LN52A750R1F I purchased has a Faroujda DCDI 1000 scaler, which increases the Dynamic Contrast Ratio to 100,000:1. They say the regular LN52A750R1F does not have one. I do not know what a Faroujda DCDI 1000 scaler is or whether or not it increases the Contrast Ratio. Eltrozone charged me $300 more for the scaler and alledged increased Contrast Ratio. Can you enlighten me? Thanks!

jlinge69- I am curious if you ever found a answer to your question about the Faroujda DCDI scaler.

I am being told pretty much the same thing about the Samsung LN65B650X1.HDHut says the same model without the X1 at the end has a contrast ratio of 100000:1.Where the model with the X1 has a contrast ratio of 300000:1 because it has the DCDI 1000 scaler. Thanks

Fellas,

I missed this thread. Please be aware that if the TV does have a different scaler, then the unit was opened and modified - which voids the warranty.

If it wasn't opened, then that's an issue between you and the retailer. I have no idea if this claim is true or not, or how they got the numbers they claim. Here's a related post:

This was not done by a Samsung authorized factory.
