Question

Contacts/ Calendar not syncing on Samsung Galaxy A5

May 10, 2018 8:23AM PDT

Hi,

I support numerous Samsung Galaxy A5s but have recently started experiencing issues with Outlook contacts/ calendar not syncing with the handset. The only way to access them is to keep going into the Outlook app - this is causing a lot of frustration as it doesn't even identify a caller only shows the number.

I have read that numerous people are having the same issue and some are referring to an email being sent to the Outlook account and needing to select it to sync with other apps but I am unable to see where to do this. I have tried to add the app through the Samsung mail app but I don't seem to be getting very far!

Has anyone else come across the same issue please - its starting to drive me mad!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Sorry but this one is up to Microsoft to fix. I will share

I will share one thing that did trip up sharing. The owner had moved contacts to the SIM card. I have to thank this owner for doing that since otherwise Gmail and contacts were fine up to this point.

So contacts in the SIM card don't sync. How about that?

Outlook App

Hi,

I downloaded the Microsoft Outlook App but the contacts have not sync'd with the Contacts App on the phone - so any callers are only coming through as a number

I see I was unclear.

While I thank my friend for doing what he did, it did reveal that contacts in the SIM are never synced (as of last week and prior.)

The only way I found them to sync is to copy them to (Google) Contacts and then it worked.

This poor friend kept tripping up the Syncs because he wanted contacts in his Sim in case the phone was dropped and broken. I understand his thinking but he was unknowingly breaking sync.
