Everytime I'm not using my desktop for around 10 minutes it will blue screen and restart. But when I use it I don't every get them. I can't figure out why it does this. I'm just assuming it might be some type of hardware error since I recently built this desktop.

Are You Sure It's Not Screensavers/Power Management?.
Jan 25, 2011 4:46AM PST

It sounds like the problem is occurring when power managment or a screensaver is kicking in.. As such, drivers may be the culprit.. Be sure to visit the motherboard manufacturer's website and download/install the most recent motherboard/chipset drivers for your machine. Likewise for all other drivers on the machine and it's possible you need an updated BIOS for the motherboard.. Be sure they are all current.

Hope this helps.

I updated to the latest bios and I re-installed the chipset drivers and I am still getting the blue screen when i'm away from my machine for more than 10 minutes.

Then It's Time To Check Hardware..
Jan 31, 2011 8:26AM PST

Open the computer case and blow out any dust from around the processor, the heatsink, the power supply and all fans and vents.. If that doesn't cool it off, then it may be time to replace the thermal paste between the heatsink and processor.. Of course, many swap in a known good power supply to check if the power supply is causing the issue. If a known good PS fixes the issue, then replace your current one permanently.

Hope this helps.

it's all brand new so I don't think the thermal paste or power supply needs replacing. And I run CoreTemp on my machine and monitor its heat levels and its never overheating.

New Doesn't Mean Correct...But...
Feb 1, 2011 10:42AM PST

...the Local ID: 1033 can mean a number of things and frequently, it's a driver issue. But sometimes it processor related. I'll still suggest checking for an UPDATED chipset driver, not just reinstalling the current one.. Likewise for all other drivers on the machine.. Make sure you're using the most recent Windows 7 (64 or 32 bit) driver that is designed for each hardware type on the machine.

Although the article below doesn't apply to Windows 7, you'll see that driver issues could be the cause when power state issues come up. :

Of course, if you haven't checked the Device Manager for yellow exclamation marks indicating driver problems, please do.

Hope this helps.

drivers

I reinstalled the drivers because they were already the new, updated versions. I just thought a few might have has problems. So everything on here is updated and current. And no I already checked, there are no yellow warnings in the device manager.

Have you checked out your RAM chips.

I had a similar problem and it was as simple as static build up on a RAM (not sure if this is logical) anyway it worked. I just changed out 1 of my 2 chips. Not everything is good.

No I have not checked them because they are all 4 brand new so I figured there weren't any problems with them.

Hard disk
Feb 21, 2011 2:47PM PST

I think this the problem with your hard disk I am not saying that your hard disk is faulty but the connection from hard disk to mother-board could generate this problem . I've this problem some time ago with the same message, Try to pull out all the wires and place them back accordingly and properly . hope this will help. Thanks
