Question

consrv.dll virus?

i am using avast free version and it detects a malware as "c:\windows\system32\consrv.dll"Is it safe to remove consrv.dll since it is in windows folder?please reply soon

It's looks as though you're in the middle of getting help at the Avast forum. They are on the right track.

I would suggest posting the log they recently requested, and following up with them from there.

consrv.dll
I know exactly this issue, which is specific to windows 7 x64
AFAIK the only tool to deal with it is Mcafee's RootkitRemover.
