I have another laptop (doesn't matter) and it's not the chipset but the LCD. DO NOT BUY until you inspect a laptop first hand.

"According to current information HP does no longer equip the Envy 14 with a Radiance display. Instead, a standard screen without enhanced color space is used."

Again, you may want to look at Sony (again.)

First why.

The answer is that folk are asking for lower prices so that's where you drop the battery size and pull back on the LCD one notch.

I have many machines at the office and the Dell workhorse has an acceptable display but nothing nearly as good as the Radiance or the prior Sony's.

Buying sight unseen is not a good idea.

Funny you mention Dell. Am just looking at the prices of the new Dell Inspiron 14R N4110.

Hi Bob,
just wanted to let you know that I finally settled on another Vaio.
Just picked it up an hour ago.
Managed to get a 13" Vaio S series from late 2010.
All is well so far. Lovely contrast and colors and super sharp. Blacks are so so, but am generally happy with it.
I love the Vaio Keyboards or maybe its just because am used to it....
Still getting to know what will be my constant companion for the next year or two.

I like those 13 inch laptops.

Nice to run out the door and go go go. I have this oddball 11 inch better than a netbook that does this as well.
