MU_gz,
What you may want to do is hook everything up via HDMI to your new receiver. This will allow the sound to be processed directly to the receiver, and then hook up the receiver to the HDMI input of the television.
Soundbar: Bluray
Soundbar: PS3
Soundbar: Motorola DVR (Tho sometimes they work better directly to the TV, with optical audio from DVR to soundbar)
Soundbar to TV.
That's my recommendation, although it holds no weight over what anyone else would recommend, so if someone has a better suggestion, I'd love to hear it. Keep us posted.

I am getting ready to give my Pioneer Home Theater system to my son in law and am thinking about the following set up for my tv. I'd like to connect all of this by HDMI cable and wondered if that is possible and what the connections would be. Here are the components and connections available:
Already purchased or rented
Samsung tv: 2 HDMI inputs
Motorola DVR: 1 HDMI output
Not purchased:
Sony Soundbar: 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output
Blu-ray player: possibly a Samsung Blu-ray player of some sort or a Sony Playstation
What would connect to what? Would all the connections run through the soundbar (they are on its subwoofer)
