Varies with each model.

We would have to read the manual for the access point. Can you supply the make and model of this access point?

ASUS has a manual. It writes.
Jun 6, 2016 8:01AM PDT

"If the ADSL “LINK” light blinks
continuously or stays off,
Internet access is not possible
- the Router is unable to
establish a connection with
the ADSL network."

The manual is from 2010 and may not match your device. That is, here the manual has a picture of the LED with "WAN" on the front but later they call this LINK.

But as there is 6 years from the manual date to today, you may find the manual to be incorrect and have to ask your ISP about it.

Do you actually have internet access? If you do, the light is simply indicating activity.

If not, have you tried re-setting the router?
