General discussion

Connection goes out for HOURS at a time.

Apr 20, 2009 1:37PM PDT

Windows XP Media, HP Pavilion laptop, Charter Cable internet(Socal), and the modem is model: Ambit.

For a long, long time now I've had very unreliable service from Charter. Usually on hot days, which is a lot since I'm in SoCal, the internet will go down for many hours at a time. Just yesterday, I woke up at 10 am and it was already down. It lasted until around 6 PM until I could finally get a connection. And even then, it was slow. I've called Charter, live chatted with them, and every time, they tell me it's an outage in an area. When I told them I found it hard to believe that there's an outage every single day, and that my friends who use Charter get service, they merely brushed it off.

Anyways, I'm really thinking about switching to AT&T since the Summer's coming up and I just wanted to see if I can do anything before I switch. The speed is very satisfying when it is working. Thanks in advance.
