Connection Cutting out IN GAME

Dec 19, 2007 9:41AM PST

Hi I have very VERY annoying problem with what must be either my network settings or my router settings...

The thing that confuses me is that this ONLY happens while I am playing Counter-Strike or steam based games...

I will be playing everything smoothly until my brother turns on his computer in the other room, when his XP boots up it instantly gives me a "CONNECTION PROBLEM" and "CL_FLUSHENTITYPACKET" which causes me to freeze up..Restart the router and I am fine again for a RANDOM amount of time. Could be 30 seconds, could be 3 hours til it happens again...I've tried opening ports, restarting router settings...no avail.

I am running Windows XP Professional with SBC Yahoo DSL (AT&T)
SpeedStream 5100B Modem
Belkin f6d3230-4 Wireless Router (wired connection)

While my brother is running Windows Vista...

Anyone with some advice know that it will all be very appreciated...but while giving advice consider that this only happens while im playing this ONE game...Counter-strike 1.6.

TY in advance because I know you will be able to help me here..

Oops I didnt see you wanted me to try option 2..took me a while there to see that lol

Well I had disabled the wireless radios in the past just because I don't have anything that uses wireless in my household.
So i tried turning them back on and giving them a password.

I will come back to complain some more if I still get the problem, but otherwise thank you VERY much RProffit you have helped me many times now.
