Question

Connecting TV to the Internet

Jan 11, 2012 9:06AM PST

I have a windows 7 computer and a Vizio HDTV, I want to connect my TV to the internet, but my computer is in another room. Is there another way besides HDMI cable to connect them that would not be too expensive? I would need to run an HDMI cable about 20ft. I am pretty sure my computer has wifi built in, but I have never used it and don't know how to, so if there is a way to do it that way please explain. Thank you

Answer
First, you have to define or list your expectations.

I use a Logitech Revue and it's pretty nice. Wifi is not for the video link so tell more.

WHDI

If HDMI cable is too expensive for you, the Logitech and WHDI are also $100+. I have a WHDI device from HP. It is basically a wireless HDMI cable,$125.

That's going to require some PC.

So with my 99 buck Revue I get almost all I need. Your solution still seems to need a PC?
