Connecting to wireless network

Nov 17, 2003 1:29AM PST

I have a centrino enabled notebook which I use on both my home and office networks. All of a sudden, without making any intentional configuration changes, I can't get on the office network.

I can ping the Linksys wireless router but I can't access it in my browser. I can't even access the workgroup to see other resources. Net view shows nothing.

I tried setting an alternate configuration in TCP/IP properties to no avail.

Is your office network a Domain Server or just a workgroup?

If a workgroup you can make sure both your office & home workgroup are the same name.

If your TCP/IP Properties are set to obtain an IP address automatically, each time you reboot in your office or at home it should connect to your Linksys Router automatically.

Both networks are workgroups. The names match. And, yes, the notebook always did optain an IP automatically, Until now! That's why I set up the alternate configuration with a static ip (yup, it's in the right range).
