connecting the laptop to sony google tv

hi, i am using the VGA to connect it to the laptop and audio vedio cable to connect it to the google TV and then i changed the input to vedio and i didnt see any changes?? would you please let me know how to connect the laptop to google tv through the audio vedio cable (red, green,blue) and what should i select for the input of the tv. thanks
