Connecting the internet with windows 2000 NT & 98

You connect the router to the DSL modem.
Connect both PCs to the router.
Both PCs will have to be setup to get an IP address automactly.
Using the 2000 PC configure the router using the instructions that came with it. This varies by brand, but
you setup the router to signon to your DSL account.
The PCs then can axcess the internet through the router.

On the win98 PC, click start, run, type in comand and then type in ipconfig /all, and post your results. Do this on the Win2k PC also post the results. John

How do you get the window to stay open so that I can post it? Thanks

ipconfig

Do you mean the comand window?
In W2K and XP you click start, run, then type in cmd and click OK, this will open a window that looks like a DOS screen. At the C:\ipconfig /all and press enter. Ipconfig will run and display your net work settings.
For Win98 you can do the same thing to get the settings
or click on the DOS prompt button. John
