Resolved Question

connecting speakers to Samsung und406000sfxza

Jan 12, 2012 6:27AM PST

I have a new samsung led tv model und406000sfxza. I have it connected via hdmi cable to a DirectTV HE receiver. When i try to connect my external speakers vai a AV amp I get a loud humming in the speakers. The amp is connected to the TV through the supplied 3 to three connector from the TV audio/video output port. I am only connecting the audio cables. When I connect the amp to my Direct TV receiver, they work fine, but are out of sync with the TV speakers and I cannot control the volume with my remote. I really want to connect the amp to the TV but it just makes the humming sound. I have tried two different amps with same result. This set up worked with my old analog Sony TV and a std def satellite receiver.

Any ideas what I need to do to fix this?
TIA

I did not find any analog audio output on this system. If you did connect analog audio to any connection it might BUZZZzzz.

The sync issue is well discussed and you may want to look at a newer HT system that can take in the new Optical or HDMI system and signals.
