connecting Samsung UN40D6000 Smart TV to internet

Aug 4, 2011 11:15PM PDT

What do I need to connect my Samsung UN40D6000 to the internet? Am trying to avoid having to order the Samsung LAN wireless adapter which was not included with the TV. Ordering from Samsung is problematic. I guess I will need a router (which one?). But will I also need a wireless internet adapter too?

If you are going to install a router why not?

Why not place it near the TV and use a cheap short ethernet cable?

unfortunately the router would have to be downstairs and the TV is one flight up. Would I then need an adapter to pick up the signal from the router?
