Connecting Samsung MU6100 to Yamha HTR-2064 Home theater

I have recently purchased Samsung MU6100 TV 55 inches. I called a technician to set it up with Yamha HTR-2064 home theater, he told me that this TV is not compatible with Yamha HTR-2064 Home Theater. I am not convinced on this. Can someone guide me about the correct method to do it

Always ask WHY?

In reply to: Connecting Samsung MU6100 to Yamha HTR-2064 Home theater

1. TV is at
I see the usual optical out and ARC. ARC is always hit or miss so we never count on it.

2. Let's check the other thing. does not show HDMI 4K support. Could be why they said no. shows it does have optical connection so you could run optical out from the TV but BEWARE that Samsung almost never passes more than Stereo if the source is HDMI.

So my bet is they are right. did not find this model with 4K HDMI support.

I have got similar issue

In reply to: Connecting Samsung MU6100 to Yamha HTR-2064 Home theater

I have bought Yamaha Receiver RXV683 and Samsung Ultra 4K TV.
Both has got HDMI ARC port but sound not coming from speakers.
Sound coming only from TV not speakers or receiver.
Please help.

As noted in my prior reply.

ARC is never a sure thing. If you feel ARC should work, take that up with the makers. I know this and won't try to fix ARC. I run the Optical and set it up. However that's as far as I can go in forums as folk have a never ending combination of TVs and receivers so I have to offer what I do (install the optical link) and defer to the manuals on menu settings.

Sound not coming from receiver

In reply to: As noted in my prior reply.

After you turn HDMI on and ARC on you should turn TV off and then receiver off. Turn it ON TV and Receiver again then press volume button.
Now sound will come from receiver.
All the best.

Nice when it works.

In reply to: Sound not coming from receiver

Trust me. It doesn't always work and your fix is OK, just not always.
