connecting my laptop to tv

Jan 7, 2005 1:41AM PST

I have laptop with centrino 1.5ghz with 512 mb RAM I tried connecting to my tv with S Video out put but it is not working , the s video socket in my laptop is with 7 pins but i connected cable with 4 pins is it because of that? or is there any other way of connecting to TV? My tv is an old TV not digital. I have tried all the methods, connecting with scart adapter also but no picture is coming on the tv.
Can anybody suggest me something which works?

If the connector has 7 pins it's not a S-video connector and a mouse & keyboard connector have 6 pins, the connector could take a sepcial breakout cable of some kind, but you didn't give make or model. You can but a VGA to Video converter for $60~90 and have composite and S-video outs. Your TV MUST have video inputs for this to work. John

I have checked again it is clearly written S video output and having 3 holes on 1st row and 4 holes in second row, markes S video output, It Is a ACER travemate series. I have connected the s video cable and the pins to my TV AV input, but it is not working, any other suggestions.
