I bought a samsung that has a couple of HDMI ports, and in my own bumbling style connected a hdmi cable to one of the unused ports. Then turned on laptop, selected HDMI PORT with SAMSUNG remote and there it was.I am thrilled with the way this worked out for me,hope it helps you.ALSO do not buy costly cables they make no difference.
