Connecting Laptop to LCD TV

Feb 21, 2010 1:22AM PST

Hi,

I have a Dell Studio15 having a VGA output and a Samsung LCD TV with a PC input. Can anyone explain how to connect my Laptop to the TV? What type of cable should i buy and any software/driver is needed to make it work? I have Windows Vista in my PC.

Thanks,
7jades.

Both ports are the same.

Get a monitor extension cable. Be sure to familiarize yourself with how to switch between the laptop display and an external monitor (TV).

Hi Coryphaeus,

Thanks for your reply. I bought a VGA cable and successfully connected my Laptop to the TV. Now I can watch streaming videos in bigger screen!

Cheers,
Jades.
