Connecting JVC DV Cam (firewire) to USB-only laptop

Nov 2, 2007 5:14AM PDT

OK, here's a question that's probably been asked before on this forum, but I couldn't find a useable answer when I searched on the topic, so here goes:

I have a JVC DV cam with a firewire (only) port. I just bought a new laptop that has 3 USB 2.0 ports and no firewire ports and no PCMCIA slots for my existing firewire adapter card.

How can I connect my DV camera to my laptop? Is there a USB/firewire box somewhere on the shelves at Frys's?

...or anything mentioned on the HP website about expansion slots of any kind.

BTW, are the words in red showing when you post. You could save a lot of time by following those words (such as the model of said laptop...)
