Connecting home network with Mozilla Firefox

by cjmoon / November 26, 2004 5:00 AM PST

Hello. I am using Windows XP, Intel Pentium III, 128 MB RAM, speed - 498 MHz. I was having a lot of trouble with IE, I couldn't download anything with it. So I just installed Mozilla Firefox.

I had a home network, with my husband's computer connected to the internet through mine. In IE, we set up the network with a Wizard in Tools, Internet Options, Connections, Settings. I can't figure out how to do this with Firefox. Can anyone help me with this?

If you're using Internet Connection Sharing, it should just work, no setting changes necessary. Otherwise more details are going to be needed.

Re: Connecting home network - problem solved

We finally got connected on a home network. I don't know just how, but trying many things, I finally ended up getting Service Pack 2 installed - it was a long and scary process. Everything works better now and my husband can access the internet.

At one point in the process an error box appeared, titled "migrate.exe - Entry Point Not Found", in the box was "The procedure entry point GetIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL." I don't know what that was about, and I could not close or delete the box, however, the installation completed and when I rebooted the box was gone. Is this anything important or significant?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
