Connecting DVD player/ Viore TV/ satellite box - HELP!

Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me out with a hook-up question. I have my satellite box connected to a Viore V20AFTV and have been using it for months with no problems. Tonight I tried to hook up a Nexxtech DP 3222 DVD player to the system, via the satellite box and am having big problems.
When I do this, I get no picture from the DVD, just a lot of wavy strips/ distortion across the screen. With my second satellite system in the living room, I am required to scroll the channel down to component 2 to get the DVD picture. I seem to be unable to do that on this TV. The channels go down past 1 to 900 again, with no components option.
Am I a moron or is there something wrong with the mix of components? Help, please!

WHY ARE YOU RUNNING YOUR D.V.D. PLAYER THRU YOUR SAT BOX

You should have 2 componit vidio inputs on your t.v. along with 2 channel stereo use imput 1 for your sat system and the other for your d.v.d. player then just change inputs on the t.v. good luck stewart

Thanks for the reply, Stewart but I managed to work it out. My TV is different in that it has only one set of inputs plus a co-axial. I connected the TV and the DVD player and then went to menu on my TV. The problem was that I was not switching from TV to AV! Electronically inclined I am not! Anyway, it works great now and all is well. Thanks.
