Question

Connecting a MacBook to a Sony Bravia TV

Jun 15, 2011 2:50AM PDT

<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">I have a MacBook (intel 2.4Ghz OS 10.6.7 4GB Ram).<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">I connect it to my Sony Bravia 26S55 with a VGA lead (via a mini DVI - VGA adaptor) to watch streamed video content from online. It works but the tv picture frequently disappears and I get a message on the tv screen saying "PC no sync 1280 X 768 p60". Then the picture returns a few seconds later. During this time the content continues playing on the Mac perfectly well. It just seems to loose the connection for a few seconds.
I notice that this happens less frequently when I am just using the Mac for 'simpler' tasks such as typing or browsing.
I notice that the Bravia has hdmi inputs should I connect to one of these instead?

Answer
(NT) I'd try other adapters such as HDMI or DVI to the HDTV.
