Those cords would need a small circuit in the middle since USB was not designed to connect like that directly.
Said cord is about 20 bucks. Last week found 16GB memory sticks for 16 bucks so why not use those?

Hello all. I am trying to connect my laptop to my old desktop pc so that I can access the harddrive on the pc. There has got to be a simple way to do this or this old lady will have to scream (not a pretty site, lol). I purchased a A/A usb cord hoping to be able to just connect the drives like I do with flash drives. Of course it doesn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated, tiredolekat
