That's because HDMI is video AND audio on one cable. If you want only the video, find an HDMI to DVI adapter, but then you'll have to figure out some other solution for the audio.
I have a 3yr old rca true flat screen crt.. it's digital. and i bought a high def converter box! now i want to hook it up to my p.c to watch t.v etc online! i have a video card with vga,s-video,and the high def box only has s-video and r.c.a.s! or cable hookups! i have 2 graphics cards in right now! i also have a dvd player with hdmi out? i don,t know if that does me any good! and a grapics card with hdmi.. but when i put the hdmi cable in it took out my desktop speakers! the default ac97realtec!
so would a sound card solve this link? I should mention i also have a mini speaker plug splitter! could i send video over through the s-video and split the sound card? what is the cheapest way to link a t.v that only has s-vid and rca?and coax.. i don,t have have cable!
why have it t.v and movies are free online! i,m using a hp w2207h widesreen monitor! it has vga, hdmi hookups! but the hdmi cable makes the monitor speakers work! i don,t want that!
