Question

Connecting 2 of the same printers to a network

Apr 18, 2019 12:03PM PDT

I have 2 hp 6978 printers and I want to connect them both to my work network. Is this going to be a problem or will it be ok if I give them names to separate them?

Answer
While I've not done this, it should be fine

I've connected two "nearly" identical printers and each is identified separately as they will have their own hardware address. Name them yourself just to avoid confusion. The other thing I always do with printers is to give them static addresses rather than dynamic. I label each with that address so that, if I need to get into the settings, I can plug that address into my browser. Good luck.
