I'd try client mode first.
Hi everybody: Hoping someone with some good wireless networking experience can help me out. Here's what I want to do:
1. I have a mobile hotspot through my cellular phone (AT&T). I can enable the hotspot and use it as a wireless connection.
2. I travel to an area that really has no other access for the internet other than to use the mobile hotspot.
3. I have a PoE switch that I'd like to use to plug in two IP phones so they'll function remotely .
This is what I want to accomplish. I have an access point that can function in ap mode, in client mode and in bridge mode. Could I use either client mode or bridge mode, connect to the mobile hotspot and then take a cat5 cable and run that from the access point to a port on the switch? I'm assuming I don't need an actual router as the mobile hotspot functions as one, right?
Any advice or help to see if we might be able to get this configuration working would be great! Thanks for the help.
