Thanks.

Do you mean I need to purchase wireless receiver display as mentioned here http://shop.actiontec.com/
So, it's not mandatory that the TV should have inbuilt Intel WiDi card or something?
Just connecting this http://shop.actiontec.com/ wireless adapter to TV's 'HDMI port' will serve the purpose of sharing the content from laptop to LG TV?
Please advise.

I think so. But why not ask the sales person or the customer service of the shop? If they don't know about the things they sell, I'd find a shop that can help you better.

WiDi alternative

You said you wanted to share content with the TV. I can't guess what that may be but compare your WiDi receiver with the Google ChromeCast ($35) and then think about WiDi's odd copy protection schemes.

-> " WiDi also doesn't support playback of DRM'd DVDs or Blu-ray discs; when we tried to watch Empire Records on the E205's on-board DVD player we got sound, but no picture on both the laptop and the TV. Good thing we had an actual DVD player. "

You can guess I have ignored WiDi since it tries to be a nanny rather than just work.
