Until you're more specific about those "jacks".

What are they on the TV? Exactly and specifically.

What outputs do you have on the laptop, exactly and specifically.

The term "jack" has a gazallion meanings and is no help at all.

If your laptop has VGA out (most do) and your TV Has VGA in. You can easily hook it up. If it has S video out and your TV has S video in. You can hook it up. If you want sound you have to hook up your sound out to your sound in on the TV.

If your TV doesn't have the right video in, or your laptop doesn't have the right video out. You can't hook them up.

Oh, some Laptops have HDMI out. It all depends. The cheaper the laptop the less likely that you can hook it up to anything.
